Ciel Phantomhive Official Art Ciel Phantomhive Red Robin Hood
There are not near enough reference pictures of this gorgeous outfit. It appears for only a few seconds (or panels) in the funeral chapter/episode. Definitely worth cosplaying, withal!
The anime pattern is about identical to the manga design, only has streamlined a few details for ease of animation too as inverse some light/night tones for contrast. Always click for larger images – they're all quite high quality!
The cape looks like it's actually hooded. It doesn't actually spike, though, but lies over his shoulders. It's very large and doubles every bit a coating. The torso is a purpley burgundy wine and the edge and hood are a thick off-white fur. (The hood is fabricated completely out of the fur) When worn, it looks like information technology reaches the floor like a train.
The jacket is well-fitted. It'south a dark navy, trimmed in blackness along the bottom edges. Information technology goes down past his hips; on either side at that place is a slit up to the waist to allow movement. On either side of this slit in that location are a couple strings of slender light blue beads. I but cannot tell if they go all the way effectually his waist, are attached to the sash, or attach at some betoken nearly the centre to his jacket where it's hidden by the sash. Not enough references available to confirm.
The sleeves of the jacket are very interesting. At the shoulders they are puffed, with slashes all around to show a lining fabric. The slashes themselves are edged in black; the lining is a dark lavender. Beneath the puff, the sleeves tighten right to the arm with just plenty room for a little movement. At the lesser border they are trimmed in black as well. At that place is no gage, merely a little widening for the mitt and a tiny point that pokes over the dorsum of the hand simply a little fleck.
The jabot hides the front and then it is very difficult to tell how it really fastens. The manga suggests that information technology is double-breasted just shows no buttons. There is a side seam as well. In that location is a darkening almost the potential double-breasted expanse then it's probably edged in black too. Alternatively, it could simply go over the caput and therefore be a long-sleeved tunic instead of a jacket. Because of the cravat we can't meet the neckline so it's potential it might work like that instead.
Around the jacket is a blackness sash tied in a loose knot with a loop. The manga shows a picayune fringe on it. (The manga likewise shows it as light, but get with what matches better.)
At that place are hints of a shirt under the jacket. While the manga shows it as black for contrast, the white in the anime makes a lot more sense to me. It'southward pure white with a gathered ruffle neckband which sticks upwardly, and matching gathered ruffle sleeves. There is a fine lace around the edges. Click the images for more detail!
Similar the shirt, the jabot appears black in the manga just white works a lot better for me. Your choice. Information technology has 3 layers of ruffles and looks like information technology ties around his neck.
His shorts are very night grayness and fall just above the human knee when standing. (When sitting they pull upwards further, naturally). They are loosely bloomer-fashion, ending in a band cuff, merely are non very poofy to avoid looking like bloomers. With the shorts he wears stake grey socks with one cavalcade of darker grey vertical diamonds upwards each side. They're either thigh-high socks or else actual tights. Y'all should not see the tops of them under the shorts.
The boots come upward mid-dogie, leaving a good chunk of sock exposed. They're chocolate-brown with night brown or blackness laces up the front end. They take a modest heel, probably appropriate for riding.
The crown is much less detailed in the anime than it is in the manga. There are small spikes around the bottom border that are not shown in the anime. The metal is gold and the fabric below is the same burgundy (maybe even the same fabric) every bit the greatcoat. There are three smaller gems on each metal side piece going up, and a large light-green jewel in front. On pinnacle is a slender cross. Overall, it looks like the rex chess piece.
With this outfit, he wears his standard accessories (link HERE). In the manga, his nails are painted a night color – probably black – but in the anime they are not.

Worn with the Funeral Outfit for sure; have seen it with other stuff in the manga as well as other variants of this cloak.
I've dubbed this cloak his dracula cloak because of the collar. The collar goes upwards and out – not 100% traditional Dracula but definitely evoking the image. It's sort of pointy at the ends of the neckband equally well, adding to the look.
Similarly to an Inverness coat, information technology has an extra layer over the shoulders.
In the forepart information technology is held together by a concatenation that ends in a silver cross (with fifty-fifty sides, not like a Christian cross). The chain begins at an crest-shaped piece of metallic and loops over an identical ane to concord it downwards – I'm guessing that detailed, it'due south the Phantomhive crest.
The cloak is well past knee-length and may exist nearly ankle-length. Go with what makes you lot comfortable walking – don't exist tripping up stairs, information technology's very unbecoming of a Phantomhive.
Boosted references are on this Pinterest board with the Funeral Outfit.
Ciel wears this outfit most notably at Madame Red'south funeral merely also at the very end of flavour 1 of the anime (and during the 2d ED). I have't finished season 2 so I'm not certain if/where it appears. Information technology'southward very hitting and sombre. Ever click for larger images!
The glaze is well-tailored to fit him. Co-ordinate to this concept art (left) from season 2, it's made of eight panels. There are two on each side of the forepart. The back is split into height and bottom. One panel on top, with darts going downward to the waist for a tailored back; and then three on the bottom (1 on each side of the back slit).
The concept art shows a slit in the back of the coat. However, information technology'south clear in the Madame Red funeral scene in both anime and manga that in that location are two pleats in the back of the glaze, non one primal slit. Both are valid options.
If yous get with two pleats, the dorsum could be built with only two pieces – the acme piece the same equally the one with the slit, and the bottom piece with two pleats in information technology on either side. (Your pick of pleat method; it'southward a box pleat like on many school skirts)
In the center back there is a band, pointed on both ends, with two buttons on it. Information technology covers the eye back seam and the two side darts. Like on many of his outfits, it serves the functional purpose to ensure that the back slit does not rip open from the pressure of walking.
In that location are viii silver buttons, bundled in the double-breasted pattern, on the front of the jacket. They match the dorsum buttons and the three buttons on either sleeve.
The collar is minor and high, not showing much of the shirt underneath, with notched lapels. This is slightly different from the funeral scene where the collar dips lower to evidence more of the tie. Your selection again.
There is probably a pocket by his left lapel where he put the rose just it's hard to run into. I'm making this assumption off this variant outfit from chapter nineteen – it'south identical to this merely with a folded handkerchief in the pocket.
The rose is red for Madame Cherry only in the second ED of the offset anime season it's white.
Under it, Ciel wears a manifestly white button-down shirt with a highly starched neckband. Information technology's very proper. The cuffs practise bear witness a bit across the coat sleeve.
The tie is evidently black. Realistically information technology should have a good woven texture but none is shown.
The shorts match the glaze in colour. They're a bit above the knee – they look more childish than many of his others – and have a neat pressed line down the center front and back.
His socks are black and are held up by plain black garters. The fastening on them is silvery.
The shoes are obviously but elegant. The natural language sticks up higher than the residuum of the shoe, separating from it. There is a pocket-sized heel and a buckle in front. The buckle appears to be for decor only – the anime shows the strap through information technology to be plainly and likely to be leather; but the manga shows it as a crinkly sash. Either way, it's black. There'south a niggling loop on either side likewise that keeps the sash from going anywhere in the manga.
Note: I'm having problem seeing the exact colour of the earrings he wears but instead of his typical earrings I think they're black instead of blue. Could be wrong. Here is a link for his other common accessories.
He wears his Dracula cloak with it. Hither is the breakdown for that.

We're first introduced to Ciel in this outfit in Episode ane, and information technology turns out to be 1 of his favourites as it reappears frequently. Too as one of his nigh iconic outfits, information technology was featured in the first Kuroshitsuji musical – That Butler, Friendship.
Co-ordinate to my vague net enquiry on Victorian apparel, this is probably a forenoon coat. I'm terming it as such to differentiate from some other green coat that Ciel wears. I'yard open to debate on the specific names of the different outfits considering I'm not a period practiced. Experience free to comment or email with corrections!
While I don't take whatsoever full-length references from the musical, I exercise have some good front closeups of the coat. Notice the fabric used. I'm going to gauge at a twill or something light even so durable; possibly wool. The neckband, cuffs, and trim are possiblyvelvet or velveteen with a very short pile and no shine. The colour is a lilliputian off because of the lights but it'due south a much more subdued color than in the anime. Much more realistic yet still visibly the same outfit. Think a hunter green.
The buttons are smoothen and shiny. Historically they might be made of silver; more than practically they're probably some sort of stainless steel. There should be eight to ten. Keep in mind that you lot will need a different amount of buttons based on your ain torso length so it's perfectly normal that there are more in the musical than in the anime.
The sleeves have iv small buttons on the cuffs.
The coat itself is definitely fitted without being tight. Information technology's been tailored and fits very well. It appears to be made out of six pieces: two fronts, two sides, and two backs with a seam down the centre. Note the seam angling up the shoulder blades on this dorsum view hither. There's also a slit upwardly the centre dorsum for ease in motility.
A small-scale divergence in the shirt (see above photos for comparing) is that the musical version has a wingtip collar while in the anime it is just a normal stand-up collar with no fold-over. It probably helps the bow stay down a little ameliorate. Otherwise it appears to exist a standard button-downward shirt.
The bow is nighttime blue to match the tone of the green glaze merely not so dark navy equally to blend with the black trim. Something vibrant like a royal blueish volition work. The bow is tied just but is fairly strong rather than being floppy probably due to its width and potentially being starched.
The shorts are of the aforementioned cloth as the coat and appear to be pretty standard boyshorts. They're neatly pressed, though, with a crease downwards the center.
Similar usual, Ciel's alpine socks are held up with a unproblematic sock garter. The socks are blackness and the garter is brownish. His shoes have a medium heel and amusingly look a bit 'pilgrim'ish. They're dark-brown with a tan heel and a silver buckle. Meet picture for details!

This is the outfit that Ciel wears throughout the entirety of Episode 2: His Butler, Strongest. I feel that this is the ane that captures the idea of Ciel's costumes.
Ciel is not an adult; he wears knickers and a loose child'due south bow. But he is not a child either. His clothes are dark; he wears the family jewelry; the cut of his coat is mature while still maintaining the childlike look.
The primal colours in this outfit are burgundy and black. At that place's a piddling brown (on his boots) and he wears a white shirt. But the look is overwhelmingly burgundy and black, assisted past anime!Ciel'southward hair. (No, I'thousand not going to become into the anime vs. manga hair colour fence.)
Similar most of Ciel'south outfits, our attention is drawn and kept by the coat. This i is a tailcoat. Judging by the general texture and the look of the front and dorsum of the cloth, I think that if it isn't made out of a cotton wool/wool suiting textile, it might be a very short pile velour.
The lining of the upper portion of the coat is blackness. It extends out to the notched lapels (notice, by the manner, how it's non one piece all the way effectually – there's a seam by each notch). Information technology does not extend downwards to the tails.
The coat has a seam downwardly the back, and one of those odd little straps that ought to have a name merely I don't know it. I believe it's there to take the pressure off the point where the tails separate. It'southward got two picayune silver buttons or brads to hold it downward.
In that location are vi buttons in two columns down the front, and ii more decorative buttons by the lapels. The sleeves are fitted but not overly tight. The cuffs are intentionally and likely permanently folded up, every bit they're very stiff. They're blackness and are trimmed in a barely lighter burgundy.
The tails are halfway down his calves but not ankle length, and are both foursquare.
With the tailcoat he wears basic black shorts. They're probably made out of a thick cotton like a skilful pair of dress pants – observe the crease where they have been carefully ironed.
Under the glaze, he's got a basic longsleeve white shirt on. The bowtie is a burgundy not equally dark every bit the coat but not as low-cal equally the trim on the sleeves. You could tie it similar a normal bow (like shoelaces) just I think this tutorial volition make it stay amend. Link!
As usual, he's wearing his bluish earrings, his eyepatch, his gold ring, and his family ring. See this post for details.
His boots are a very dark brown with black reinforcement over the toe and around the heel. They push upwardly the outside. They have a tiny fleck of a heel but non much. They're rather practical.

In every post with one of Ciel's outfits, I'll note which accessories he's wearing with information technology & link back to this post. I'll edit this post if I find more accessories that ought to be part of this post rather than office of an individual outfit.
EARRINGS
Ciel'south earrings are always blue. They're small round pearl-manner studs.
EYEPATCH
This is the standard eyepatch that he wears with all of his Phantomhive outfits. Information technology'due south black and unproblematic – your bones pirate eyepatch, with long strings that Sebastian ties in a bow in the back.
I am not going to talk over the actual contract seal. I've heard of people getting circumvolve contact lenses (and occasionally even custom fabricated ones with the seal on it) only I've also heard horror stories of how dangerous the larger circle lenses can exist… Check cosplay.com for discussions on the contacts.
CANE
Just to analyze – Ciel has no need for a cane, only a proper English language admirer would ofttimes conduct one for manner and as well for self-defense. While a prop cane is not likely to be able to cause harm, many real canes would have weights in the handles to be used as a club. The way Ciel carries the gold cane makes me remember this 1 is not weighted, though.
This other cane, with the skull handle, is much more than likely to be weighted, or merely be made out of a heavy fabric. I met a cosplayer once who had made the skull out of resin, which fabricated it quite heavy. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're really trying to be dangerous.
Here is a link to a tutorial from a Japanese cosplay magazine translated over on cosplay.com for the gold pikestaff: [link] I understand that information technology'southward a scrap harder to read off a forum, simply I accept non gotten in contact with the translator yet to ask permission to host hither. If I do, I'll update the link.
RINGS
Ciel has two rings that he ever wears. The Phantomhive ring is silver with a blue rectangular stone prepare on it. It's also large for Ciel, beingness last worn past his male parent, so he wears information technology on his pollex. (I find this rather telling that he won't get it resized.)
The other band is mayhap a family unit crest? It looks very similar to the lapel pin that Sebastian wears.
This ring is sized properly to fit Ciel – either it was given to him by someone (before or after his parents' deaths) or else he was willing to resize this one.
